Alfa Milano 3.7

Alfa Milano 3.7 Projects

Group 2 Motorsports is building two Alfa Romeo Milanos into Euro-spec 3.7 litre monster track cars. The 3.7 motors are built by Dawie de Villiers of Glenwood Motors in Pretoria, S.A., suspensions are from RSRacing in the Netherlands, steering racks are from Sweden, Group 2/Girodisc are supplying the A P Racing calipered brake kits (out-board rears for cooling); and Group 2 has built the roll cages, wired the cars, is installing the Italian body kits.

Abarth

Abarth 1300

This California car came to Group 2 courtesy of Vintage Customs of Auburn, WA where it is undergoing a re-restoration. Vehicle was inspected at Group 2, the front suspension completely removed and rebuilt, the rear suspension and motor had been previously done in a very tidy manner. This is one of several projects Group 2 is doing in concert with Vintage Customs, mostly Alfa GTVs and Giulia Supers.

Lancia Flaminia Zagato

Lancia Flaminia Zagato

Another California car from Vintage Customs - a major restoration project. Group 2 removed sub-frames front and rear. This is a transaxle car. Sub-frames have been completely rebuilt with new bearings, bushings, leaf spring, coil springs, and steering. Steering box is being rebuilt using the existing box and a steering box the owner sourced in Portugal. Car was delivered in primer, intended to be just a roll-bar installation. Roll cage was done to customer specifications. Group 2 has continued with the project, removing old suspension, strengthening chassis is critical areas, and undercoating the necessary areas. Suspension components were sand blasted and powder coated and reinstalled with all new bushes, shocks and springs.

Jaguar E-Type

Jaguar E-Type

Beautifully done car, entire front suspension and steering was disassembled, A-arms disassembled, and all parts cleaned, sand-blasted and painted. New bushes were installed, steering rack cleaned, painted, and adjusted, torsion bars were installed. Hubs and rotors were assembled with new bearings, and torsion bars adjusted for proper ride height.

La Carrera Panamericana

'54 Lincoln "La Carrera Panamericana"

This car was rebuilt to owner's specifications, replicating in detail the car of the period. Group 2 completely disassembled and refurbished the suspension. Refurbishment of the engine compartment and components, wiring, and numerous modifications were accomplished. Braking system was completely rebuilt, including the drilling of backing plates and the addition of air vents for cooling. Interior was completely removed, a roll cage was fabricated and installed, and interior re-installed. Ride height was adjusted and car aligned. Detail work, decals, etc, were performed by the owner at Group 2.

Ford Falcon

1964 Ford Falcon

This car came to Group 2 after a long and historic history of racing in Europe. Originally built by Ford for the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally, modified by Holman and Moody, this "tin top" was driven by Graham Hill in the Rally. Later campaigned in the British Touring Car series, the car saw a long career with Alan Mann Racing. Group 2 completely re-furbished this car, H&R and Bilstein helped with the design of the 6 coil-overs, AP Racing supplied the "new" brake calipers, the owner's engine builder did a very good job. The car had several successful seasons in Sovren.

Alfa Romeo GTV-6

Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Suspension and Brake Package

This car was delivered to Group 2 from Portland, OR. Suspension was completely re-bushed, and the full RS Racing suspension was installed. Brakes were upgraded to the G2/Girodisc brake kit. Steering rack was modified to a close ratio rack. The end result is an incredibly fun and deceptively fast track car.
